Conservation Awards

Every year the Polk SWCD gives out awards to individuals and groups who improving the environment with their conservation efforts. A scholarship award is also given to a deserving high school student who will be furthering their education in the environmental field. The awards are presented at the Polk County Fair in July.

Each year Conservation Districts of Iowa holds a children’s poster contest. This contest is open to a K-12th grade child that resides in Iowa and is in a public, private, or at home school. The theme for this year was “We All Need Trees”.
